Would you like to:

- explore and understand the neurobiological foundations that contribute to the whole person?

- become more intentional, targeted and individualistic in the way you serve your clients?

Neurobiology explores the processes that occur within the brain, body and mind, which influence a person’s development, mental health, behaviour and well-being.

This approximately 13 hour online course provides a practical exploration of these processes. Real-world examples and storytelling are woven throughout to make the content memorable and meaningful.

No prerequisite knowledge of neurobiology is required to participate in this course.

“The importance of neurobiology is relevant to all humans, helping us understand the people we support, as well as ourselves!”

How is this course unique?

This learning journey through the brain, body and mind offers a rich understanding of how brain and body circuitry operates as an integrated network. Through these pre-recorded learning modules, registrants will explore how this contributes to a person’s sense of identity, well-being and their relationship to others and the world.

Treatment models are based on brain-body science. Through exploring the neurobiological foundations that contribute to a person’s health and well-being, we can more informedly make decisions about what treatment model may be the most suitable, and increasingly meet people at their level. Neurobiology Matters helps us to determine how to do what we do, and when.

When asked what stood out about the course and what they’d like to share, here are some of the comments from the students of the live offering of this course in spring of 2022:

The importance of seeing the student/patient without pre-assumptions but curiosity and connection. It was eye opening to her the question motor challenges related to either sensory dysfunctions or traumatic experience or even epigenetic experiences...just beautiful.
This course is very valuable and helpful information. Thank you.
Loving the course. Wish I could download Kim’s brain. Thank you for all you do.
Everything! So well presented and organized - I am taking in so much exciting and useful information.
It was all amazing and so much to soak in. The different things that happen for people with autism was interesting to learn about. The Amygdala and Thalamus were fascinating too. Reflecting on how to help people in stress/ high states or cortisol/ panic to destress using different pathways was interesting.

Learning objectives

The following topics are covered, as they pertain to clinical reasoning within our practice. No prerequisite knowledge of neurobiology is required to participate in this course.

All modules provide clinical examples about how to apply this new learning to clinical reasoning and practice.
