Movement plays a significant part in learning and function. Yet as therapists supporting children with Autism, we know they often experience major motor challenges. This is brought about by their differently-wired neurological systems that have difficulties in integrating sensory data throughout their bodies. How any child moves offers insights into how their sensory systems are functioning, relating to how their brains are selecting, sequencing and modulating sensory information in order to organize motor output.
The therapist must become a good observer of a child's unique movement system in order to create specific and individualized interventions. This 2 hour webinar in both English and Italian is intended to be the start of this important exploratory and cognitive process that must always also emphasize the relational aspects of treatment. Collectively, movement and relationship are critical components in any intervention from a holistic perspective.
Il movimento svolge un ruolo significativo nell'apprendimento e nella funzione. Tuttavia, come terapisti che supportano i bambini con autismo, sappiamo che spesso affrontano grandi sfide motorie. Ciò è causato dai loro sistemi neurologici cablati in modo diverso che hanno difficoltà a integrare i dati sensoriali in tutto il corpo.
